Our Customers Official Platform
Over the past two years we have been passionate about empowering educational innovators to reach every learner.
When OneRoom Kenya joined forces with Partners for International Development (PID) to expand digital learning in Western Kenya, we could not resist the call to further their Goals & Context, given our experience building technologies in the education sector.
OneRoom Kenya delivers engaging digital content, teacher support, and an intuitive learning management system (LMS). Partners for International Development drives grassroots education programs across Western Kenya, reaching remote communities with limited connectivity and resources. Together, they needed a technology partner to:
- Scale their LMS to thousands of users across diverse environments.
- Ensure reliable content delivery—even offline—so learning never stops.
- Track student progress and teacher engagement through powerful analytics.
- Offer ongoing, accessible professional development for teachers.
- Add Local AI models, and Audio transcription
Some of The Challenges We Tackled
- Scalability Across Regions: The platform had to serve schools with varying bandwidth and device availability.
- Offline Learning Needs: Many classrooms experience intermittent internet, so content needed to be available offline and sync seamlessly when connections returned.
- Data-Driven Insights: Teachers and PID managers required clear, real‑time reporting on student performance and resource usage.
- Teacher Training at Scale: Delivering remote, interactive training modules and peer collaboration tools for educators spread across Western Kenya.
Our Solution
1. Hybrid, Scalable LMS Architecture
- Cloud-Native Core: Deployed on a resilient cloud platform, handling user spikes and content updates smoothly.
- Offline Synchronization: Local caching and background sync allow learners and teachers to work without internet, then automatically upload progress and feedback.
- Modular Design: Easily add new features—quizzes, interactive videos, discussion forums—tailored to PID’s evolving programs.
2. Optimized Content Delivery & Mobile‑First Design
- Efficient CDN & Compression: Implemented adaptive streaming and file compression to minimize data usage and load times.
- Responsive UI: A mobile‑first interface ensures students and teachers can access lessons on smartphones and tablets common in the region.
3. Integrated Analytics & Reporting Dashboard
- Custom Data Capture: Built tools for effortless collection of assessment scores, attendance, and engagement metrics, both online and offline.
- Interactive Dashboard: Real‑time visualizations for OneRoom Kenya and PID, highlighting trends, flagging areas for intervention, and enabling customizable reports for stakeholders.
4. Teacher Professional Development Portal
- Remote Training Modules: Video lessons, interactive workshops, and quizzes deliver continuous learning opportunities for teachers.
- Peer Collaboration & Mentorship: Forums and chat channels connect educators across schools, fostering best‑practice sharing.
- Direct Support Channels: Integrated messaging via email and WhatsApp ensures mentors can respond quickly to teacher questions. Teachers can also reply in real time and answer or help students when they are stuck.
Collaborative Process
Our team worked iteratively with OneRoom Kenya and PID, running pilot programs in select schools and gathering on‑the‑ground feedback. Regular workshops and user testing refined the LMS features, UI workflows, and analytics workflows to fit cultural and logistical realities. We also worked on piloting generative AI models to Students and Teachers alike to reduce the time spent in creating mundane teaching materials like lesson plans and lesson notes.
Results & Impact
- Wider Reach: Enrolled over 3,000 students and 200 teachers within six months, with steady growth in active users.
- Continuous Learning: Offline sync meant 95% of lesson completions recorded even in low‑connectivity areas.
- Data-Driven Decisions: PID reduced administrative reporting time by 60%, reallocating resources to program improvements.
- Empowered Educators: Teacher training completion rates exceeded 85%, and peer collaboration boosted resource sharing across districts.
“UjaoTech’s contextual understanding and technical expertise have been game‑changers,” says OneRoom Kenya’s Director of Programs. “Our partnership with PID now runs on a platform that truly meets the needs of Kenyan learners and educators.”
